Karen Parisian is a Chicago-based artist whose work explores the intersection of abstraction, spirituality, and the human condition. Working from a sun drenched 100 year old Artist Loft in Chicago, she has developed a language of form that is both expressive and refined—merging the symbolic with the emotional.
Rooted in a practice she describes as Spiritual Modernism, Parisian’s paintings bridge the physical and metaphysical. Through gestural lines, layered surfaces, and quietly powerful shapes, she explores the universal human longing for connection, balance, and meaning. Her work reflects a belief that art and spirituality emerge in tandem—each one an invitation for presence, inquiry, and renewal.
Karen is also a practicing art therapist, a discipline that informs the emotional depth and psychological subtlety of her work. This duality—clinical and creative—deepens her engagement with the unseen and the symbolic.
Parisian’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest and can be found in the homes of collectors, designers, and creative leaders across the U.S. and Europe.
