French Oak + Rush Stool, 1940s - 2 Available
A French stool from the 1940s, crafted of crossed oak latticework that runs between the legs in a repeating diamond pattern, introducing an open geometry that gives the form a sense of lightness.
Beneath the seat, the carved apron adds another layer of detail. Its softly shaped edge breaks from the straight lines of the frame, bringing a decorative quality to the stool without overwhelming its rustic character.
The rush seat is woven in a wide basket-weave pattern that reveals the natural variation and texture of the material. Its warm, organic surface contrasts with the darker oak, softening the architectural quality of the base while remaining practical and durable.
Sold and priced individually.
