French Rattan Pendant in the Manner of Louis Sognot, 1960s

$1,100.00

A French rattan pendant from the 1960s, created in the manner of Louis Sognot.

The silhouette is defined by a sweeping cage of curved rattan, each hand-formed rib wrapping around a softly tailored fabric shade. The layered construction creates depth, allowing the woven frame to filter and frame the light rather than conceal it. Suspended from an oversized chain of matching rattan links, the fixture carries a sense of rhythm from ceiling to shade, reinforcing its architectural presence.

Crafted from rattan and fabric, the pendant embodies the warmth and ease that became synonymous with French interiors of the period. The organic texture of the woven frame contrasts with the softness of the linen-like diffuser, producing a gentle, ambient light while celebrating the honesty of its materials.

Whether positioned above a dining table, in an entry hall, or as the focal point of a sitting room, it introduces texture as much as illumination.
