Italian Blue + Gold Ceramic Bowl Attributed to Bitossi, 1960s

$650.00

An Italian ceramic bowl from the 1960s, attributed to Bitossi, where surface becomes the defining gesture of the piece.

Finished in Bitossi’s signature Oro Rotto glaze—translated as “broken gold”—the bowl shifts between luminous metallic gold and flashes of turquoise blue beneath. A network of irregular crackling moves across the surface, giving the glaze a weathered, almost geological quality.

The form itself is simple, allowing the glaze to take focus, while an asymmetrical notch at the rim interrupts the otherwise circular silhouette. Decorative yet still functional, the bowl catches light almost like metal, changing subtly throughout the day depending on its surroundings.

DIMENSIONS: 6.25"W x 6.25"D x 2"H

ORIGIN: Italy

PERIOD: 1960s

MATERIALS: Ceramic

CONDITION: In great vintage condition with minor glaze imperfections inherent to the firing process. Signed "Italy" on the underside.
