Italian Murano Glass Flush Mount attributed to Mazzega, 1960s
An Italian Murano glass flush mount from the 1960s, attributed to Mazzega.
Formed from individually mouthblown Murano glass elements, the fixture is arranged as a ring of softly cascading petals. Each piece shifts between translucent crystal and a delicate blush pink, creating a layered effect that changes with the light. The textured surface of the glass catches illumination unevenly, introducing movement and depth even when the fixture is unlit.
Suspended from a circular brass frame, the petals fall in gentle rhythm around the perimeter, concealing the light source while allowing a warm glow to emerge from within.
Its scale and silhouette allow it to sit close to the ceiling while maintaining a strong presence in the room. In an entry, it creates a sense of arrival. Above a dining table, it draws the eye upward without overwhelming the space. In a bedroom or dressing room, the soft pink tones lend warmth and atmosphere.
