Italian Murano Glass Pendant Light with Ribbed Ruffle Shade, 1960s
A 1960s Italian pendant light in hand-blown Murano glass and patinated brass.
The shallow bowl shade is formed in thick, ribbed glass, its surface softly textured to diffuse light into a warm, ambient glow. Along the rim, a subtle ruffled edge introduces movement—an irregular, almost fluid line that catches highlights and gives the piece a quiet sense of rhythm.
Suspended from a slender brass rod, the fixture shows a natural, time-earned patina throughout, from the canopy to the central finial beneath the shade. The glass holds the focus, with the structure kept deliberately simple.
When lit, the glass shifts from clear to luminous, scattering light across its textured surface and casting a soft, even glow below.
