Michel Dufet (1888–1985) was a French architect, interior designer, and furniture designer whose refined work helped shape the evolution of French decorative arts in the early twentieth century. Born in Paris, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts before establishing his own practice, where he became known for combining classical French craftsmanship with the clean, modern lines that characterized the Art Deco movement. Dufet designed furniture, lighting, interiors, and architectural projects, often emphasizing elegant proportions, luxurious materials, and restrained ornamentation. His work was regularly exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and the Salon d'Automne, earning him recognition as one of the leading designers of his generation.

Throughout his long career, Dufet collaborated with prestigious French manufacturers and created furnishings for private residences, public buildings, and ocean liners. His designs reflected a balance of sophistication and functionality, seamlessly bridging traditional cabinetmaking techniques with modernist ideals.
