Black Shag by Erin Vincent, 2025
A textural wall sculpture by Canadian artist Erin Vincent, 2025. Composed of reclaimed fabric scraps, the piece reads like a tapestry undone—hundreds of hand-cut textile fragments layered and knotted into a cascading surface. Black dominates, but closer inspection reveals stray glimmers of blue and violet—echoes of the materials' past lives. A study in deconstruction and accumulation, the work evokes both garment and ruin, concealment and expression. Hanging hardware included along the backside.
Erin Vincent is a Canadian artist who creates sculptural wall art and installations in a process that she describes as the “manipulation of societal ephemera.” She has exhibited work throughout Ontario and New York City.
