French Art Deco Alabaster Floor Lamp, 1930s

$5,400.00

Rising with a sense of verticality, and defined by its elongated carved alabaster shade, a French Art Deco floor lamp from the 1930s.

Tapered and gently flared, the stone softens and diffuses light with a warmth characteristic to alabaster, revealing subtle veining and natural variations within the material. Illuminated or not, the shade reads as a luminous object in its own right—part lighting, part sculpture.

The wrought iron structure provides a deliberate counterpoint to the translucency above. Slender and restrained, the stem is punctuated by forged details that reflect the craftsmanship of the period. At its center, a twisted decorative element introduces movement without disturbing the lamp’s overall simplicity.

Below, forged scroll feet extend outward in a rhythmic pattern, grounding the composition. Equally at home beside a seating arrangement, in a reading corner, or as a standalone accent, the lamp creates atmosphere through both light and form. The alabaster casts a soft, ambient glow, while the iron frame lends structure and presence to the room.
