Italian Pink Rectangular Wall Mirror with Floral Motifs, 1940s

$3,600.00

An Italian wall mirror from the 1940s, crafted in the Venetian tradition and defined by its softly contoured, worked frame.

The glass carries a warm pink tone, subtle yet atmospheric, lending the surface a gentle glow that shifts with the surrounding light. Encircling the mirror, the frame is etched with delicate floral motifs, fine stems, blossoms, and small ornamental details that feel both decorative and restrained.

The engraving is not overly precise; slight variations in depth and line reveal the hand behind the work, giving the piece a quiet sense of individuality.

The edges are irregular, softly undulating rather than strictly linear, which adds to its character. Small, visible fixings punctuate the frame, introducing a rhythm that balances the fluidity of the etched patterns. Together, these elements create a composition that feels considered but never rigid.

There’s a softness to the overall effect. The tinted glass, the floral detailing, and the gentle shaping of the frame all work in harmony, hallmarks of Venetian mirror-making, where ornament and atmosphere are closely intertwined.

Mounted on the wall, the piece functions as both mirror and decorative object. It reflects light with a muted warmth while holding its own presence, well suited to spaces where texture and subtle color are meant to quietly accumulate.
