Pair of French Stained Glass + Verdigris Iron Sconces, 1950s

Sourced in Paris, this pair of French stained glass and iron sconces from the 1950s are shaped by the language of mid-century artisanal metalwork.

Each sconce is structured around a hand-hammered iron frame, its surface deeply worked and left intentionally irregular. The verdigris patination settles into the texture, accentuating every mark and contour, giving the metal a sense of age and atmosphere. The form branches outward, recalling the traditions of small Parisian workshops where craftsmanship was as much about touch as design.

Set within the frames, stacked slabs of colored glass create the defining presence of the piece. Arranged vertically, the glass catches and filters light into a soft, jewel-like glow—muted yet luminous. Subtle shifts in tone emerge as the light changes, turning the sconces into living elements rather than static fixtures.

Placed in a hallway or flanking a doorway, they frame space with warmth and texture.

Sold and priced individually.
