French 'Statum' Wall Sculpture by E.T. Frankland, 1970s
A large-scale French wall sculpture by E.T. Frankland titled Statum, where geometry, texture, and scale converge into a quietly architectural composition.
Constructed from painted and lacquered wood, the hexagonal form pairs a deep black ground with a raised cream geometric relief, creating a subtle interplay of light, shadow, and dimension. Its 3-inch depth allows the piece to project gently from the wall, giving it a floating presence that shifts with changing light. Both graphic and tactile, Statum functions as wall art while introducing rhythm, texture, and architectural character.
