French Verdigris Metal Torchière Floor Lamp, 1970s
A French floor lamp from the 1970s, shaped in the classic torchière silhouette—upright and quietly atmospheric.
Crafted in metal, the surface has developed a soft verdigris patina over time, lending the lamp a mottled green finish that feels both aged and alive. At the neck, a small brass rosette knob adds a moment of ornament.
The form is spare and vertical, rising from a weighted circular base to a flared, cup-like shade. Its proportions are balanced and deliberate, allowing the upward cast of light to define the space rather than dominate it. The effect is ambient, indirect-light that gathers on walls and ceilings rather than projecting outward.
