Italian 'Acona Biconbi' Chrome Pendant by Bruno Munari, 1960s

$3,200.00

Designed by Bruno Munari, an Italian pendant light from the 1960s, conceived as an exploration of geometry, movement, and light.

Composed of interlocking chrome-plated elements, its form resolves into a complex sphere of intersecting planes and circular apertures, creating a structure that appears to shift and transform as it is viewed from different angles.

The polished surfaces capture and reflect their surroundings, while the open construction allows light to pass through the composition rather than simply emanate from it. Geometric triangles, curves, and voids are arranged in a rhythmic balance, producing a sense of movement that is characteristic of Munari’s work. Even when unlit, the pendant functions as an object of visual intrigue.

Hung within a room, it creates changing reflections and layered shadows, engaging the surrounding architecture as an active participant in the composition. Its presence is equally compelling above a dining table, or as a focal point within an entryway.
