Italian Murano Glass Leaf Table Lamp Attributed to Barovier & Toso, 1940s
An Italian Art Deco table lamp attributed to the esteemed Barovier & Toso atelier, circa 1940s. Formed in Murano glass, the sculptural shade takes the shape of a stylized leaf, crafted with fine ribbing that catches and refracts the light.
Well suited to smaller spaces or styled as a singular accent on a side table, the lamp casts a warm, inviting glow when lit.
The Barovier dynasty traces its roots to 1295, when Jacobello Barovier, a master glassblower, began transforming molten sand and minerals into incandescent works of art. For centuries, the family maintained its legacy, crafting exquisite glass pieces until the mid-20th century, when it merged with another renowned glassworks to become Barovier & Toso. This evolution reflects a commitment to artistry and tradition that endures to this day.
